    Start by combining flour, cornstarch, salt, and garlic powder.
    • 1 1/2 cup flour, all purpose (180 g) (additional for dusting)
    • 1 cup cornstarch (120 g)
    • 2 tsp garlic powder (6 g)
    • 1/4 tsp salt (1 1/2 g) (to taste)

    Take out half of this mixture and mix it with water and hot sauce until you get a thin, red batter. Set this aside.

    Season your shrimp with salt and pepper. Sprinkle on some flour on top so the batter sticks.

    Mix the shrimp first in the wet batter and then the dry batter.
