- Start by combining flour, cornstarch, salt, and garlic powder.
- 1 1/2 cup flour, all purpose (180 g)(additional for dusting)
- 1 cup cornstarch (120 g)
- 2 tsp garlic powder (6 g)
- 1/4 tsp salt (1.50 g)(to taste)

- Take out half of this mixture and mix it with water and hot sauce until you get a thin, red batter. Set this aside.
