Privacy Policy
Effective as of June 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Foodie Plus LLC collects, uses, and shares information when you use Foodie on the web, the Foodie+ iOS app, and related services.
Information We Collect
We collect the information needed to run your account, sync your recipes and grocery lists, process subscriptions, provide support, and improve Foodie.
- Account and contact information: email address, account ID, sign-in method, and profile details provided through Foodie, Google, Apple, or email sign-in.
- Recipes, imports, and grocery content: saved recipes, recipe edits, imported URLs, pasted text, photos or screenshots you choose to import, grocery list items, cooking preferences, Foodie Memory settings, and other content you save to your account.
- Voice and audio: if you use hands-free cooking or voice features, microphone audio, transcripts, conversation IDs, and related session details may be processed to provide the feature.
- Subscription and purchase information: subscription status, plan, product identifiers, transaction status, Stripe customer or subscription IDs for web plans, and Apple StoreKit transaction details for iOS plans. Apple and Stripe process payment credentials directly.
- Device, usage, and diagnostics: device and app identifiers, notification or Live Activity tokens, app version, operating system, product interactions, logs, crash data, performance data, and similar diagnostics.
- Optional connected services: if you connect Google Calendar, we collect the information needed to link, maintain, and disconnect that calendar connection, such as connection status, Google account email, and authorization tokens.
- Cookies and web data: on the website, we use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, account status, preferences, analytics, and marketing measurement.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- create, authenticate, secure, and support your account;
- sync saved recipes, grocery lists, preferences, and account details across Foodie+ on iOS and Foodie on the web;
- import recipes from links, text, screenshots, photos, the iOS share sheet, and other sources you provide;
- provide Foodie assistant, hands-free cooking, voice, and personalization features;
- process subscriptions, restore purchases, prevent double billing, and provide purchase support;
- diagnose bugs, measure feature performance, prevent abuse, improve reliability, and understand how people use Foodie;
- respond to support requests and send service-related messages;
- send marketing emails or product updates when permitted by your choices and applicable law.
AI and Voice Processing
Foodie uses AI and voice providers to power recipe import, recipe cleanup, ingredient parsing, assistant responses, generated recipe imagery, and hands-free cooking. When you use these features, the recipe text, links, images, grocery context, audio, transcripts, and prompts you provide may be sent to trusted service providers so they can return the requested result.
We do not use your private recipes, grocery lists, or account content to sell your personal information.
How We Share Information
We share information with service providers only as needed to operate Foodie, provide features, process payments, measure app performance, support users, and comply with law. We require these providers to protect user data consistently with this policy and applicable App Store Review Guidelines.
- hosting, database, authentication, storage, and infrastructure providers;
- Apple and Stripe for subscriptions and purchase handling;
- analytics, crash reporting, observability, and product measurement providers;
- email, customer communication, and marketing tools when you provide an email address or opt in to messages;
- AI, voice, transcription, and recipe-processing providers for the features you choose to use;
- Google, only when you use Google sign-in or choose to connect Google Calendar;
- legal, safety, fraud prevention, or compliance recipients when required to protect users, Foodie, or the public.
We do not sell personal information. Foodie+ on iOS does not use the Identifier for Advertisers and does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.
Permissions
Foodie+ on iOS requests permissions only when they are needed for a feature you choose to use.
- Camera access is used when you take a photo of a recipe to import it.
- Microphone access is used for hands-free cooking and voice controls.
- Photos are accessed through the iOS photo picker when you choose an image to import.
- Notifications and Live Activities use device tokens to send app notifications or recipe-import updates when those features are enabled.
Your Choices
- You can manage your Foodie account from the Account screen in the iOS app or from the Foodie account page on the web.
- You can delete your Foodie account from the iOS app or web account page. Account deletion removes your Foodie account and saved data from our active systems, subject to limited retention for backups, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and transaction records.
- If you have an Apple subscription, deleting your Foodie account does not cancel Apple billing. Apple subscriptions must be canceled through your Apple ID subscriptions settings.
- You can manage camera, microphone, notification, and other iOS permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can disconnect Google Calendar from your Foodie account when calendar linking is available.
- You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us.
Data Retention and Security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Foodie, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements. Some deleted information may remain in backups, logs, or transaction records for a limited period.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
Children
Foodie is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as Foodie changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required.
